The woman behind the logo
The logo is inspired by our ancestor, Jane, a Pamunkey woman who was a doctor in the 1700s! Although we have no pictures of her, we decided to depict Jane in the likeness of other family members, but with an art deco makeover. We chose her to be the face of our products to honor her legacy and to draw upon her wisdom of medicinal herbs.

The family behind the business, all the way back in the 70s!
We are an Afro-Indigenous Canna edible company based in MN! We are the third generation that has called Minnesota home and currently raising the fourth. Most of us are Washburn Millers, but we’re cake makers as much as eaters.
Our main goal is to expand, not only what edibles can be, but also how we can make and use them with intention. Utilizing the properties of all we know of nature and its diversity, we craft flavor and function into the eats and treats we peddle.
Though the laws that govern us do not allow us to make any claims that our products cure, heal, or alter the body in any way, we certainly want you to know that we do intend for our products to, at a minimum, alter your tension level and offer you a recreational alternative.
As an Afro-Indigenous company, we have a history of listening to our bodies, our communities, and our connection to the land; that is why it is our goal to become a net-zero business by the end of our second year! We will always strive to keep this planet from further damage.
We are passionate about making our entire operation environmentally friendly. From energy and water use to our packaging. We attempt, whenever possible, to reuse solar offsetting and invest in solar panels.
Where we are going
HOMEMADE
We are continually looking for ways to better our products. We are consistently thinking up new recipes and researching homemade solutions for as many of our ingredients as possible. Our goal is to make all of our products suitable for vegetarians and to offer vegan alternatives whenever possible. That means all of our products containing marshmallows will soon be made from our homemade delicious vegan marshmallow recipe!
OUR PRODUCTS
We want to redefine what an edible can be. Of course we plan to have the classics (candies & baked goods), but how about an infused hamburger bun, or frozen food entree, or condiments even? The sky is the limit and that’s where our heads are at Opto Mystic Munchies.
In the coming months, we will introduce terpenes to our hemp derived THC emulsion used to make our goodies! This is really exciting. Terpenes are some of the natural aromatic compounds in Hemp and other plants that help to regulate mood, anxiety, inflammation, and even euphoria.
OUR THC
We have been working tirelessly on creating Cannabis Delta 9 infused edibles and oils. But, Minnesota law has not caught up yet. So, we contracted with Northern Diversified Solutions to provide us with Certified Hemp Derived THC products that we infuse our goodies with, and we can now legally offer these treats anywhere in the Contiguous USA!
